Once a month in San Francisco's historic Purple Onion night club, Kurt Bodden interviews interesting people in front of a live audience. The producers wanted a website that could be a key element in the show's launch, promoting upcoming guests, encouraging users to sign up for the show's mailing list, allowing online ticket purchase and offering a podcast of previous shows. I designed a clean, hip site with a retro feel, including custom illustrations, to match the smart, casual mood of the live show.
The site runs on a content management system I built in PHP with a MySQL backend. It uses poMMo for email list management, jQuery-powered AJAX for the email signup form, and a custom module based on podcastgen to manage the podcast feed.
